Finding the time, energy and the will power to write.
Last week I talked about carving out the time to write But, I realize that not all the people who want to write are
retired. So, my strategy is when I have to be out and about, I always carry a pen and a clip board with what I’m working
on (editing what I wrote the day before, working on writing my page goal for the day) with me. So, if I have a few
minutes when I’m waiting for something, I dig it out and work. I’ve written while waiting at a doctor’s office, in a grocery
parking lot, while riding as a passenger in a vehicle on the way to Salt Lake City, in an airplane while flying to Orlando,
Paris and Cairo, on a large decker boat while traveling down the Nile, Yangtze and the Amazon Rivers and even while my
granddaughter practiced 6 hours, five days a week at the Las Vegas Fiesta Ice Arena (which was a bit chilly to say the
least but I always dressed warmly, sat up in the bleacher area and took a thick quilt to cover me.) I firmly believe if one
desires something bad enough, you will find a way.
As for finding the energy-you need to sleep. You know that you don’t function at your full capacity it you are tired. So,
you have to rest and get plenty of sleep, if you want your brain to function clearly. And you need to take care of
yourself. Drink plenty of water, eat healthy and exercise. I’ve found purchasing and using a Fitbit has been a tremendous
help in keeping track of all of this.
Next Week’s Blog will conclude with finding the will power to write in this crazy world we live in.
